We have been telling students all summer to NOT WASTE YOUR SUMMER! I recently read an article by Albert Mohler that is about this exact thing. I believe this article will help parents think about how to help their students to continue learning in different ways this summer. Here’s the article:

The average teenager sends 2,272 text messages a month. Albert Mohler, president of Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY, recently posted a wonderful article on text messaging. I believe that texting could be an important topic for discussion between parents and their teenagers. Here’s his full article:

Here are a few things for parents and students to discuss:
1. How can you be more like John the Baptist and be a bold witness for Jesus this week?
2. Have you ever read one of the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke or John)? If not, ask your family to read Mark with us this summer as a family project.

We should be missionaries everywhere we go, but often it is hardest to be a witness where we are most comfortable. Here are a few questions for parents and students to think about:
1. Do you have a hard time trying to live for Jesus in your home, in your town, at your school, in front of your parents, peers, teammates, etc.? Why?
2. Do you find it difficult to make changes in your life for God when everyone already knows you and expects you to behave a certain way? Why?
3. Do you really believe that God is powerful enough to use you as a witness to others?
4. Is your heart broken over the fact that people you know are on the road to hell? Are you praying for them? Are you willing to talk to them about Jesus?
5. Think about what is keeping you from being a witness. Is it fear? Is it a specific sin in your life? Are you praying that God will change you and use you for His glory? Pray for boldness and courage to live for Jesus!

This summer we will be competing for one (1) free trip to Dallas Daze. How do you enter? Come to FUEL, Sunday School, Small Group. Every time you show up, you get an entry into drawing.
